Pupil Voice

Children’s Parliament

We are trying a new way to hear pupil voice.  Instead of having a School Council we now have a Children’s Parliament.

Pupils from Year 3 to 6 meet in mixed house groups twice every half term to discuss specific issues.  During these sessions pupils have the opportunity to voice their ideas, thoughts and feelings.  Year 6 children will take notes and feed these back to the leadership team. Year 1 and 2 pupils will also discuss the issue in their own classes.

Our leadership team will then feed back to the whole school in an assembly and to parents/carers in future newsletters.

Our first session was on ‘Do you feel safe in school?’ and the children raised some excellent comments and suggestions!
