Mermaids Mini Marathon

Cherry Tree girls compete in the London Mini Marathon

They only went and did it, and we couldn’t be more proud of these brave, strong, inspirational Cherry Tree Primary School girls who completed the London Mini Marathon.

The girls are part of the M2 club in Cherry Tree which is led by Miss Tyler.  The mission of this club isn't to create ‘RUNNERS.’ Instead, M2 support schools in the work we already do to create a generation of young girls who enjoy being physically active, underpinned by a strong sense of self-worth and self-belief that flows through all aspects of their lives.

The climax of this year's programme was for the girls to complete the London Mini Marathon, which they did on Saturday. They also had the confidence to meet Joe Wicks, The Body Coach, and to be interviewed on camera by BBC Sport.

Well done to our fabulous girls who really lived our school beliefs and promises by working together to aim high and be brave!
