Nursery Admissions

Cherry Tree has a small friendly Nursery with a maximum of 32 children who have their 4th birthday during that academic year. Our Nursery is 15 hours a week, mornings only and the sessions run Monday to Friday between 8.55am and 11.55am.

The process to apply for Nursery place has changed.  Herts County Council no longer handle these admissions and parents/carers need to apply to each individual Nursery.  Please see the Nursery Admissions Arrangements below which gives information on the Nursery application process.  To apply for a place at our Nursery, please complete the application form below and return to school by the deadline.

We do not offer the 30 hours entitlement ourselves, however, we work in partnership with Pickles Pre-school who operate from a building on our site.  Please visit their website Pickles Pre School for more information on the additional hours.

Primary Admissions

We have two Reception classes at Cherry Tree Primary School. The annual Primary Admission process is handled by Herts County Council Admissions Team and this usually starts in November each year.

During the application process, we can provide prospective parents/carers with a tour of our school.  These are held on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 11am and Wednesdays at 2pm throughout November and December.  Please call the School Office on 01923 245490, after October half term, to book one of our tours .

In-Year Admissions

If your child is currently in Reception through to Year 6 and you would like to apply for a place at our school, this is also handled by Herts County Council Admissions Team. You will need to make an “In Year” application.
